Dorset County Show

A growing two day Agricultural Show just on the outskirts of Dorchester on 6th - 7th September. Previously known as the Drochester Show. The Agricultural showname was changed from Dorchester Show - Dorset County Show last year.

Attracting over 55,000 visitors each year it is the biggest two day Show in the South West.

Supported by over 400 tradestands there is something for everyone. With over 2,000 animals competing in various competitions, including horses, sheep, cattle, pigs, goats, rabbits and birds.

The Main Ring this year will host a fantastic array of attractions including:

THE ROYAL ARTILLERY MOTORCYCLE DISPLAY TEAM

AKA THE FLYING GUNNERS !

 

Wherever the Royal Artillery Motorcycle Display Team perform they are the centre of attention at every show they visit. Their high octane 30 minute performance will leave you breathless. The 20 man team will perform feats of sheer courage and skill, with precision riding at its best, you will see some of the fastest crossovers in the world today, with closing speeds of up to 80-90 mph.  You will see a pyramid built whilst on the move, individual balancing acts and stunts and arena entertainment for the young ones.  For the finale you will see a multi-car jump over various vehicles.  All set to music with professional commentary. They are a firm family favourite appealing to the young and the mature members of the public.  This military display team prides itself on being the best and is always updating its equipment and appearance, giving a professional show for all the family to enjoy.

 

A FESTIVAL OF HOUNDS

 

This year sees the first ever Festival of Hounds in the Main Ring at the Dorset County Show.  You may have seen our Parade of Hounds before but this will really blow you away as you witness 6 packs of hounds in the Main Ring at the same time.  All attended by their Whips and Masters either on horseback or on foot.  To celebrate this traditional country pursuit that has seen such change in the last few years we are looking forward to this heart warming spectacle.
